Does God Exist?

A man went to a barbershop for a shave and haircut. He began to converse with the barber who attended him. They talked about various subjects. Suddenly, they touched the subject of God.
The barber said: "Look man, I just don't believe that God exists as you do."
"Why do you say that?" asked the client.
"Well, it's easy, you just have to walk down the street to realize that there is no God. For instance, if God existed, would there be so many sick people? Would there be so many abandoned children? If God existed, there would be so much suffering and pain. I can't believe in a God who permits all of these things."
The client decided to change the subject so as to prevent an argument. The barber finished his job and the client left the barbershop. As he stepped outside, he saw a man in the street with long hair and a beard (it seemed that it had been a long time since he had his hair and beard cut. He looked so untidy).
Then the client again entered the barbershop and said to the barber, "You know what? I've decided that barbers do not exist."
"How can you say we don't exist?" asked the barber. "I am here, standing before you, and I am a barber."
"No!" the client exclaimed. "If barbers really existed there would be no people, like that man out there with long hair and a beard."
"Barbers do exist," the barber argued. "What happens is, some people do not come to me."
"Exactly my point!" affirmed the client. "God does exist. The reason there is so much pain and suffering in the world is that people don't come to Him for help."
