**HOLY SPIRIT EMPHASIS FOR 2010 RELEASED

This year's Holy Spirit emphasis, "Moved by the Spirit," reveals
that Christians need to makes themselves available to God and open
their hearts to the Spirit's leading.

"One of the greatest challenges we face as believers is motivation,"
says AG Commissioner of Evangelism Randy Hurst. "The simple act of
doing what we know we should is often difficult."

Two downloadable videos have been produced for this year's emphasis.
The first video, "Moved by the Spirit," explains how the Holy Spirit
motivates believers to do the good works God has prepared in advance
for them.

"Some of the greatest ministries God has raised up in our Fellowship
began when the Spirit moved a person to do a work God had prepared
for them," says Hurst.

"Wherever you see the Spirit at work you see initiation, you see
motivation, you see the church going in directions and individuals
going in directions that they perhaps had not conceived on their
own," says Dr. George Wood, general superintendent for the AG.

The second downloadable video corresponds with a new 7-day
devotional book, "Maintain Your Spiritual Fire," written by Hurst,
which will be available May 1 for a Holy Spirit emphasis beginning
on Pentecost Sunday, May 23. It expresses how spiritual passions can
be kept alive through spiritual disciplines and dependence upon the
Holy Spirit. The study can be used with a small group or to be read
individually.

The study and videos can be used in a variety of ways. The first
video is designed to launch the emphasis on Pentecost Sunday ? or a
Sunday of the pastor's choosing after Pentecost Sunday followed by
the reading of the study during that week by the congregation.

For a unique and intensive study of glossolalia, a new book, "The
Foolishness of God," which explores the Holy Spirit baptism and the
"mystery" of tongues, has just been released. The book is written by
Dr. Del Tarr, the former president of the Assemblies of God
Theological Seminary.

"Churches can also utilize the iVALUE series along with the Holy
Spirit emphasis," Hurst says. "By tying into the iVALUE series,
which examines the four core doctrines of the Assemblies of God, a
study could easily extend a month or more in length, with fresh
materials every week."

For detailed information about the new Holy Spirit emphasis,
including how to download the two videos for free, see
http://HolySpirit.ag.org. To learn more about the iVALUE series,
which has videos and materials available to download for free, see
http://iVALUE.ag.org.

**EMPOWERED21 JUST WEEKS AWAY

The generations of the global Spirit Empowered Movement will
converge in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on the campus of Oral Roberts
University April 8-10, 2010, for Empowered21: Global Congress on
Holy Spirit Empowerment in the 21st Century. This will be an
unprecedented gathering of scholars, leaders and next-gen voices
from all over the world meeting together for 3 days of radical
intercession, academic insight, global networking, deep discussion
and the sacred impartation of the Holy Spirit.

Corresponding to this is a contemporary thrust in prayer and fasting
for revival on college campuses across America led by voices like
Lou Engle and others. A 40-day fast targeting campuses began March 1
and concludes on April 9 in the middle of the event. Hundreds of the
movement's top leaders will converge to minister at Empowered21 as
they focus on the future together.

Billy Wilson, executive director of The International Center for
Spiritual Renewal (http://www.icfsr.org) and Empowered21 chair,
said, "Several recent events cause us to believe that a spiritual
convergence is about to happen at Empowered21. When the Congress
process began, Oral Roberts was alive and part of the planning as
was Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty. Their deaths have signaled clearly
to us that the torch of charismatic fire must be passed to new
generations."

Wilson continued, "It appears that the time is right for a new
spiritual impetus that will propel the next wave of world
evangelization. A fresh empowering of the Holy Spirit is
desperately needed in our generation."

Several months ago, numerous leaders, scholars and next-gen voices
began a process called the "Commission on Holy Spirit Empowerment in
the 21st Century." During the last year, conversation events with
these groups have taken place around the world with more than 530
people from 54 different nations. The major thrust was a focus on
the future of Spirit-empowered Christianity and how to engage new
generations for Christ. The culmination of these global
conversations is Empowered21.

There are several pre-event meetings happening April 8. These
include the Spirit-filled Hispanic ministries conference, a
gathering discussing the ministry of the evangelist in the 21st
century; a seminar on how to reach secular campuses for Christ; and
a Catholic Charismatic ministries conference ? a meeting with a
special emphasis on the Catholic Charismatic community.

Participants can engage in some of the over 210 learning
conversation sessions facilitated by an unprecedented gathering of
scholars and ministry leaders from around the world who will share
information and lead discussion in one of 35 distinct tracks
important to the Spirit Empowered Movement. To see a complete list
of all general sessions, speakers, learning sessions, leaders and
others involved with Empowered21, visit
