**PRAYER -- IT'S POPULAR EVEN ON FACEBOOK

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in
spirituality, nationally and globally. Yet Christianity is often
ignored as people blindly seek spiritual fulfillment. But one aspect
of Christian spirituality that regularly receives attention, even by
those who don't believe in Christ, is prayer. Does it work or
doesn't it? Though thoughts and opinions on this abound, throughout
time there has been an undeniable pattern among humanity that
reveals communion with God is a powerful reality.

"There's just something about prayer that calls to our inner-most
being," explains James Meredith, assistant director of the
Assemblies of God National Prayer Center (NPC). "Even those who have
nothing positive to say about the church, religion or God, often are
willing to be prayed for."

Recently, Meredith created a fan page on Facebook for the NPC. Not
sure what to expect as to its popularity, he was pleasantly
surprised to see more than 1,000 people have become fans of the
Prayer Center in less than two weeks.

Meredith explains that along with informing people about the
opportunity for prayer on the NPC Web site, he hopes that the
presence of the NPC fan page on Facebook will allow for greater
feedback from a wide audience. "The more feedback we receive, the
better we know how to serve people and help our churches meet the
needs of individuals," he says. "As I look at the list of fans,
representing a diverse array of ages and nationalities, I am excited
about the audience we have the potential of reaching."

"Facebook gives the NPC opportunity to connect with the online
culture in ways we could not otherwise accomplish," states John
Maempa, NPC director. "Hopefully, many people in that culture will
realize afresh, or for the first time, that the ageless, 'wireless'
means of communication called prayer is as relevant, real and
powerful today as it was in Bible times."

The NPC Facebook page can be found by searching for "National Prayer
Center of the Assemblies of God" on Facebook. For more information
about the NPC, see its Web site at http://prayer.ag.org.

**TEEN CHALLENGE STUDENTS ASSIST AG CHURCH

Seven Teen Challenge students from two of the Pacific Northwest Teen
Challenge (PNWTC) centers traveled with PNWTC Facility Manager, Rev.
Charles Parker, to Waldport, Oregon, to assist Waldport Assembly of
God church with their building program. Under Parker's direction,
the students hung 5,640 square feet of sheetrock in two and a half
days.

"The church provided the meals and housing for the group and
assisted in any way they could," said Parker. "The students had a
great time of fellowship with Pastor Derick Smith and members of the
congregation. The students enjoyed the trip, work and fellowship so
much they asked if they could go on another missions trip."

In a Teen Challenge meeting two years ago, Parker set a goal for
their centers to have at least one missions trip a year. Since that
meeting, three trips have been taken.

The first was a similar trip to Warrenton, Oregon, in which 11
students hung just over 18,000 square feet of sheetrock in three and
a half days, according to Parker.

Another missions trip included evangelism and work on a Native
American reservation near Spokane, Washington.

The PNWTC region includes Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The
region contains 12 centers, with over 200 students enrolled. For

Web site at http://www.teenchallengepnw.com.
